At Hyperion Munitions, we’re proud to have a team that represents strength, dedication, and community spirit. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Janette Pomeroy, one of our Territory Managers, who joined us in 2024. Janette’s incredible journey to Hyperion showcases her unwavering commitment to excellence and her passion for making a difference both inside and outside the workplace.

A Career Forged in Dedication

Janette brings over 21 years of experience in law enforcement to Hyperion, having served as a Deputy and Field Trainer with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. During her tenure, she helped shape the next generation of law enforcement professionals. For 18 years, she extended her expertise to the classroom, working as a Law Enforcement Academy Trainer at St. Pete College, where she specialized in firearms instruction and defensive tactics.

From Veterinary Dreams to Martial Arts Champion

Interestingly, law enforcement wasn’t where Janette saw herself early in her career. She began as a Veterinary Technician, but her hunger for more led her down an unexpected path. A dedicated martial artist and full-contact Muay Thai athlete, Janette gained international recognition by winning competitions worldwide. Her athletic achievements caught the eye of the police academy, where she was recruited after being featured in a local newspaper. The rest, as they say, is history.

A Perfect Fit at Hyperion

Janette’s first day at Hyperion Munitions proved she was destined to be part of our family. During her interview, she coincidentally dressed in the same style as CEO Dane Thomas—complete with a black polo shirt, khaki tactical pants, black boots, and a 5.11 belt. The moment was serendipitous and sealed her feeling of belonging.

She loves Hyperion for its family-first feel and relaxed atmosphere, where respect and humor create a supportive workplace culture. “It’s as if I’ve been here for years,” Janette shared, reflecting on the camaraderie she’s found with her team.

Community Champion

Janette’s contributions extend far beyond the workplace. She actively volunteers with the Eddie Eagle NRA Gun Safety Program for Kids, teaching firearm safety to the next generation. She also serves as the Executive President of New World Celts Inc., a nonprofit organization with a 24-year history of supporting individuals pursuing Celtic arts. Janette leads the organization’s eight chapters across Florida, working tirelessly to uphold its mission and expand its impact.

A Competitive Edge

Janette’s passion for firearms extends to her participation in law enforcement firearms competitions, where her skills as a trainer and shooter shine. Hyperion is currently in discussions about the possibility of creating a Decima team, and her background and expertise in competitive shooting make her a strong candidate for involvement, particularly with firearms like the Decima series and the T6 rifle. While these plans are still in the early stages, her competitive edge exemplifies the values and standards Hyperion upholds.

A Heart for the Simple Things

When she’s not managing territories or competing, Janette finds joy in raising ducks. Her love for animals and nature reflects her early roots as a veterinary technician and rounds out her multifaceted personality.

Hyperion Munitions is honored to have Janette on our team. Her inspiring journey, vast experience, and commitment to giving back make her a true asset to our family and a beacon of excellence in everything she does. Thank you, Janette, for all that you bring to Hyperion and the communities we serve!
